This is a Paid Exclusive for a month in certain places until it’s posted here, before I release it to a Selection of Fiction Sharing sites, such as Scribblehub and Royal Road. Trey looked out the rain soaked window, he couldn’t see much beyond a few lights of cars speeding the distance. In the reflection show Trey standing staring out. This Trey seemed smaller and younger and lacked a few scars. Behind Trey was a Desk with piles of papers and a large box, that seem to have Amber text glowing on the Black recessed section. Beyond the the desk was a man in apparently expensive suit, and he was irritated.

“Mr Kazuki, about my daughter’s…?” said the man, apparently irritated about something. Trey apparently knew the man, but he could not recognise the man. Trey acted as if he did know him. Was this dream in fact a memory?

“Miss Laguardia is a prodigy. I foresee several issues, in addition to effectively skipping a number of years.” Trey replied. Who is man’s daughter? Did Trey meet her before? And why is Trey not offering to teach her?

“Are you implying that you will not teach her?” ask the man, this time with hint of anger.

“No, for the course that you requested, I would not be able to teach her, yet. While the Dean wouldn’t mind getting some press for having here here, the admissions board will not accept her, and knowing them they probably won’t even consider it for at least 5 years.” Trey explained.

The man was showing signs of irritation. He wants to go her to far and fast.

“Since the death of Professor Svetlana Wiess, this department hasn’t had the sway it had a few months ago. But as I am the acting head of this department; I believe I can find a more suitable course,” Trey said as he picked a file, “Or tailor one to fit her needs. But in this case, a large amount of the course would need to be done on a one to one basis. It is unavoidable given that she would be the on that course. I would require another interview, mostly to iron out a few details. But due to commitments outside your Daughter, I’d expect that this new course will end up having long field trips, which isn’t present in the course you’ve requested. This file contains as much information I can get at this time.. I will need your written permission within five weeks,”

Trey placed the file in front of the man. He picked up and started to read it.

“Mr Kazuki, I don’t understand this, most of this is higher standard than the course that we asked for,” the man looked puzzled.

“Do you know why I asked her to come in for a test this morning? I’ll tell you. The work she handed in is what I expect a top grade student twice her age would post, for a second year unit. As you may understand, I was sceptical, so I administered a new test in person, in controlled area, such as my library, in which only myself and a student was in attendance. The result of analysis: I could gather one result, she is a genius, and I rarely call anyone that.” Trey explained.

“So, I see why all these field trips are scheduled. I don’t like it, but it’s her decision. I have one question: Who is Acacia Latione?”

Trey pointed at one of the empty desks in the room, this desk has painting of a young girl, in a dark red and white dress. Trey explained, “Acacia Latione, was a princess robbed of being queen, rumoured to be stolen by Lord Gast I. I’m not surprised you asked, your daughter seem to know a lot about several women with the same name. I got this reproduction from storage.”

Acacia Latione? Why does that child in the painting look like younger version of Acacia that fought in the Arena, Could it be her?

Trey chest felt heavy. He fought the apparent weight of his own eyelids to open them. It took few seconds before Trey eyes started to work out what he was seeing. The room looked like an abandoned house, that had already started to leak. Given that sound of rain outside, it would explain where the water was coming from.

The weight on his chest was soon identified as sleeping Acacia.

“Leave the dress off, Sammy,” Acacia mumbled, without waking.

“Sounds like a dream I’d like to be having,” Trey whispered, “Still, dawn is still hours away.”

“Miss Deja Laguardia, Welcome to your new room.” Trey announced, as he dropped a large suitcase on to the floor. This room smelled of fresh paint, which was expected considering that the building was hastily renovated for Trey and Deja’s use.

“Looks bland, But then you said that, I could add a few things,” Deja said. Her eyes had stared on him as she finished her sentence. Her coat was unbuttoned to show her childish figure, as Deja was clearly the youngest of Trey’s students.

“I’ve managed to find a few things that you can’t fit in this bag, that I think you’ll need. They will be here tomorrow,” Trey said, in an effort to keep his composure. Why does this young girl make me nervous?

“So I’m sorted out. But where do you live?” she asked.

“My room is down the hall. This building is technically my house; the board have given me, ownership of this place. It solved of one their other problems. It’s was their property, and since I’m now a permanent member of staff as head of department, not a temporary teacher. They couldn’t let me stay in that Hotel. Mrs Green…” Trey said.

Deja already had her suitcase open, pulling out clothes.

“Where is the wardrobe?” she asked.

“Oh dear, that should be here already,” Trey sighed.

“Well, back in the suitcase then,” she dropped the pile of clothes in her hands back in to the suitcase.

“Oh yeah, One of my colleagues, Annalies. She is also living here, she is going to teach you when I can’t. She’s already been on one of the field trips already, so she’ll be around to sort you out. See you at seven.” Trey said as he left the room. Just who is Deja?
