The following post is snippet of a longer post on Paid Patreon and Ko-fi users, released on 5th June 2026.
Done in May:
Mike’s Holodeck YouTube Channel news: Mass Effect 2 only got two episode done, better than April, but this was partly down to some issues with that appeared in April.
The New Mike Sharpe Writer YouTube channel is still not “live” yet. I’ve got Three videos on early access, with two more coming soon.
A few big issues appeared over the April, which I’ve only just starting to get stuff “corrected” in early May. One of the issues is that some Windows and Nvidia updates render the built-in renderer for my videos. That suddenly rendered Vegas unable to render on my main rig. I did find a work around for the Top 10 Games in 2025 Video to get rendered: I used my laptop. Fine for a short term stop gap, which the laptop did better than I was expecting, but, not viable for a long term solution. So I’ve had to swap to another Video editor..
To spread my content out more, I’ve chosen to make a Peertube channel at Spectra Video. Peartube is an alternative Video sharing platform, based on some the same ActivityPub system that Mastodon and this blog uses. Yes, you can follow this blog via Mastodon! For a good part of April, Spectra had some server issues, and was down for some time, and my videos were taken down after the site came back up for technical reasons in the back end.
Anyway, I’ve started by uploading my yearly videos that effectively died on Mike’s Holodeck channel. For a while, I’ll be uploading other certain parts when I can find the video files. As part of an experiment, the Peertube version of the video my go live a few days before the Youtube version.
Moving on to the books: Solen Masters Book 1: Acacia’s Silence is still on long delay. Sadly, No news on when Chapter 20 is coming. Also I’ve decided that Acacia’s Silence will 2027 or later.
Sadly, due to an announcement by Draft2Digital in April, I had to take the painful decision to delist 2001: A Big Nutter Oddity from the almost all stores in May. The process to delist 2001: A Big Nutter Oddity is now complete. I have entered the KDP Select or Kindle Unlimited section, and can now be read via the Kindle Unlimited subscription.
