Bringing Pokémon Let’s Go in to the Main games

It’s been over 18 months since my Last Pokémon focused article, But that’s more down to the lack of Articles on this site over this year. With Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee released back in November, I thought I’d talk about a similar topic to the first Pokémon Article I made for this site, transferring Pokémon to the Next Pokémon game.

Before I start, I’ll be covering many commonly used fan terms along with several in many in depth mechanics that hard core fans use. This is mainly due to the fact there are no official terms for that I can use instead, as the fans would also be using them. As many of these terms and mechanics could fill an article on it’s own, I will summarize them for the Purposes for this article.

As this is an prediction, most of what is written in this article is guesswork, and should not be treated as fact.

The Great Loss of Pokémon Global Link

Pokémon Global Link has been announced to shut down on November 1st 2016, and the access to obtain certain items also disappears. This is not the first time this has happened. Pokémon’s 5th Generation was slowly shut down over the fourth Quarter of 2013, with the Doors being completely shut by January 2014. (The 5th Generation is Fan term for collective name for Pokémon Black, White, Black 2 and White 2 games for the DS.)

In Generation 5, You lost access to a huge amount of Pokémon that was only available over the PGL website. While all the Pokémon that where found usually could be found in the other games, they had something about them that couldn’t be gotten in the older games. Hidden Abilities. Every Pokémon species in the game has would have an ability that affected them regardless of the move their moves. For example: Kyogre’s unique ability Drizzle made it rain once you brought it out. A Pokémon with a hidden ability, could only be found in certain places. Most of these places happened to be in the Pokémon Dream World, which was attached to the PGL site.
