Day 5 – Galactic Troubles & Introducing your Villains early

As I prepare to leave Jubilife City via the North exit, I find Professor Rowen being accosted by two people who are wearing the same outfit. This outfit stands out quite a lot here.  They seems to want something from the Professor for a Team Galactic, and appear to not to be taking No for answer.

Day 4 – Return to Jubilife City & Welcome to the internet (or not)

Day 4

I head out, and find that the North exit of Oreburgh City is a dead end, due to the path needs a bike to travel. So I head back in in to Oreburgh.

Day 3 – The Gym Challenge and TMs

Day 3

After I leave Jubilife City, on the way to Oreburgh City, I bump in to Barry. And Barry wants a Battle. It was a close thing as Turters is currently the only one who can really fight him, but being at both a numbers and type disadvantage. Both Starly and Chimchar are Flying, and Fire types and both are effective against Grass types like Turters the Turtwig.

Day 1 – To Jubilife City

This is an part of series of about my current/recent playthough of Pokémon Pearl. Some while Fan terminology and some more advanced techniques will be mentioned, a Current or Previous Post will provide a Summary of said topic.

Hardware

Starting off, I’m going to cover the hardware used: The Nintendo 2DS. The 2DS is has near full DS compatibility, with only the GBA port not being present being the only known issue. For the most part, the lack of GBA port will not matter until “post-game” or beaten the Elite 4 (“Final bosses”). As for my choice of being the 2DS console, I’d like to keep the game in a same console for as long as possible: this is to prevent some issues later, which I’ll cover in another post, when I return to Jubilife City. The 2DS was the best choice for long term play out of remaining consoles I owned, as some 3DS or DS consoles already in use with games I’m planning to trade with, and damage to others.
